Sedation Dentistry
Many people avoid seeing a dentist because of their fears and anxiety, which prevents them from receiving dental work they may desperately need. Our experienced staff at both locations in North Hollywood and Montebello use sedation dentistry to ease your anxieties and fears so we can help you maintain good oral health.
At Pacific Dental Group, we take into consideration each patient’s level of anxiety and the work being performed to determine the type of sedation they may need. We offer:
- Oral Sedation: Oral sedation makes you comfortable and relaxed during your treatment. As the name implies, it is taken orally when you arrive at the office before your procedure. You are awake and capable of responding to the doctor. Some patients are so relaxed they end up sleeping during the treatment.
- Intravenous Anesthesia: IV sedation allows the patients with extreme anxiety or in need of extensive work, to sleep during the entire procedure, with no memory of the treatment.
- Laughing Gas is combined with oxygen to make you comfortable. You’ll feel a tingling sensation throughout your body. Patients love the relaxing and comfortable feeling. At the end of the treatment, the patient receives more oxygen to transition from the gas.
- Local anesthesia is a simple numbing of a section in your mouth. The dentist will inject a local anesthetic called Lidocaine. Most patients don’t even feel the pinch of the injection but rather feel the anesthetic traveling into the soft tissue of the mouth. The anesthetic lasts for a few hours after your treatment, so eating and speaking can be a challenge, but once it wears off, there are virtually no side effects.
With the different types of sedation available to help with your anxiety, there’s no excuse for not setting up an appointment with our office. Call our Pacific Dental Group office at North Hollywood 818-356-4736 or our office located in Montebello at 323-725-6797.
